      Procurement Manager

My main responsibility is obtaining APS's (medical records) for underwriting review. An APS allows the life insurance company to base policy premiums on accurate and verifiable medical data, eliminating the possibility of mistakes or misinterpretation. With Brokers' Service Marketing Group having an in house procurement person as myself, it eliminates long wait times to obtain medical records. I am able to send a medical records request with a HIPPA compliant authorization for medical records release directly to the medical facility for processing. And in doing so, I am able to obtain APS's in a timely manner by following up with the medical facility every couple of days.A large majority of our cases, we are able to have records expedited. Average turnaround time, based monthly on all cases ordered has been under 10.0 days and has been as low as 8.67 days, compared to other vendors obtaining records, which can take up to 30 business days to obtain.Under certain circumstances where records are needed on a RUSH basis and the request itself is urgent, I am usually able to get records within 3 days depending on the facility.Other responsibilities: - Obtain additional medical records or something more specific when records received are inadequate or insufficient.-To order paramed exams and additional requirements that are needed and to follow up with the vendor to unsure they are contacting the client in a timely and consistent manner to schedule an appointment.- Notify the case manager when parameds has been completed and file in the appropriate case file for review.- Handle all APS Reimbursements Show less
