      Senior Inspection Engineer

      Responsibilities:• Inspection, test and examination of a wide range of amusement rides, utilising NDT techniques and technical knowledge to assess mechanical and structural deterioration in components and assemblies, check for safety-critical defects (e.g. by fatigue or corrosion) and evaluate functional performance. The devices inspected include from large observation wheels (e.g. London Eye), large roller coasters, other thrill rides, carousels and roundabouts, play areas, ropes etc. at large family theme parks across the UK and internationally, such as Thorpe Park, Drayton Manor, Ferrari World and Movie World Australia.• Projects are developing PPM schedules and procedures for a number of parks so they comply with current legislation and have higher operational reliability throughout the parks operational season. • Development and publication of technical documentation, including detailed NDT schedules to aid the inspection team, technical reports for clients regarding required disassembly of components or findings of inspection, as well as risk assessments for devices (covering component failure, operational risks and environmental considerations), and failure investigation reports.• Continuously monitoring team performance, providing mentoring and training for team members on inspection & PPMs.• Liaison with clients on regular (often daily) basis regarding inspection progress, provide advice on any technical issues, aid in problem solving when defects are found, review ride documentation, all to ensure clients are complying with the safety regulations for the industry.• I have developed and co-present a one day Inspection Awareness Training Course which has been delivered to clients’ technical staff around the country.
