  Account Coordinator

  I worked part-time (3 full days a week) for the Newspaper Advertising Bureau (NAB) until 2009 when we were posted to Singapore. At the NAB, I was responsible for managing relationships between advertising agencies and the 22 various newspapers in New Zealand.My tasks ranged from arranging quotes for advertising space, co-ordinating advertising projects, advising agencies on available advertising options, to producing reports and other general office tasks. Within my first 2 months I managed to clear a significant back log of outstanding accounts receivables left undone from the previous Co-ordinator, allowing NAB’s accounting system to generate all outstanding and overdue billing to clients.My attention to detail ensured that advice around advertisement placement and quotes for advertisements were accurate, bringing down the percentage of mis-quotes and reducing the department’s overall liabilities to the newspapers.I also assisted with improving office processes, streamlining the way client master data was captured, ensuring timely and consistent capture of client data.   Event Project Manager

  I have managed a wide variety of events ranging from conferences, exhibitions, dinner and dances, to talks, workshops and roadshows. Being part of a small core team has meant that I have been involved in the whole journey of the event. From the beginning, with pitching the project to client, to managing the pre-event organising, to running the event, followed by any post event matters. Managing client relationships is a key aspect as well as providing friendly and professional customer service to guests on behalf of clients. Good management and organisational skills and attention to detail are very important skills to have with this job. A calm and decisive manner are also important traits for quick problem solving when unexpected situations arise. Being adaptable has been essential whilst taking care of a varied pool of clients. Past and present clients include the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, NTU, CPF Board, NEA, the People’s Association, Housing Development Board, Ministry of Education, the British High Commission, Ministry of Manpower, etc. Exibir menos

  Community Shop Assistant

  Together with a group of other volunteers, we help run the shift once a week at the Community Shop that services the Lengkok Bahru, Bukit Merah area. Our duties include assisting beneficiaries with their purchases, restocking shelves, receiving and accounting for incoming stock, crowd management, handling the till, stock takes etc.
