      Software Engineer I, II

Engineered and reviewed code for features across 40+ Android releases from 2021 to 2024. • Worked on features that required extensive integration with a large collection of RESTful APIs, often including direct contributions to the business logic of those APIs. • As a mid-level engineer, led front-end development for the first major release utilizing a newly adopted Android development architecture, including 3 new screens requiring microservice integration, complex state management, and custom animations. • As an intern developer, created an extension to convert a large rich text document, delivered by the CDN as a JSON monolith, into native Android UI. *To my knowledge, it still serves the app more than 3 years later. • Each feature was tested with high code coverage, adding to a suite of more than 9,000 unit tests.Took a major role in the adoption of a declarative, model-view-viewmodel (MVVM), front-end architecture. This was integrated with the existing Android project, which was under development for 5 years prior. • Leveraged a foundation of prior experience with the new tech stack to accelerate the adoption process. • Led 3 live workshop sessions to introduce the tech stack to 30+ developers. Demonstrated the implementation of a fully functional screen and gave a tutorial on custom transitions/animations. • Created a library of components according to the MyUPMC theme, including a fully-featured “switch” complete with 32 possible states, custom animations, and integration with native Android OS features.Personally collaborated with design to increase app quality and developer productivity in the Android project. • Translated MyUPMC style guidance into 40+ resource definitions within the Android codebase, including colors, fonts, and shape resources and integration with Android OS features. • Corrected dozens of instances of inaccurate icons, fonts, and colors to noticeably improve visual clarity.
