  I served this county as a Deaf Education Consultant and worked with a variety of students ranging from Pre-K- 12th grade. I provided pull-out and inclusion support for students and provided total communication teaching tools for the Pre-K staff. In this role, I used both spoken language and sign language communication methods with the students. I also regularly checked in with my students' classroom teachers to provide services/professional advice as it related to their IEP and learning needs.

  In this role, I provided teaching services for grades 5-8 using a total communication approach. I taught students in self-contained and inclusion settings. I worked with other educators to restructure the deaf ed program from predominantly self-contained to an inclusion model. I provided research based intervention along with inclusion support. I also worked to map all student, interpreter, and deaf educator schedules and made sure all students were covered with interpreters when needed.

  Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Pre-K - 12

  In this role I worked with students ages Pre-K- 12 for push in classroom and one on one intervention services. I developed and wrote effective IEP's , and provided detailed data collection for individual goals. I managed FM System technology while also training general education teachers how to use it. I provided instruction using a variety of delivery and communication modes: via online, in person and by using American Sign Language. While in this role I founded a professional learning circle dedicated to Deaf Educator professional development, restarted and led a schoolwide American Sign Language club, and was a practicum cooperating teacher/mentor for 3 college students earning their degrees in the field of deaf education.
