      Activities and Societies: Institute of Transportation Engineers Attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and attained a Masters of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis on Traffic Engineering. Graded undergraduate student papers for a Transporation Planning Class and conducted research activities as part of my responsibilities for a full academic scholarship and stipend. The research activities generally consisted of attaining articles relating to signal design and truck weigh stations.

      The Region 3 Director of Project Management assists the State Project Management Director by providing oversight for projects and programs within the region. The position is responsible for helping lead, support, and integrate the Project Management discipline into TDOT’s organizational structure and culture.The TDOT Project Management Division facilitates collaboration and supports coordination between technical disciplines and project managers, through a matrix management structure. TDOT’s Statewide program is made up of new construction and maintenance projects totaling approximately $1B per year, with Region 3 approximately $320 M per year. Employees in this division are the single point of responsibility for the scope, schedule, budget, quality, and delivery of those projects. Staff have authority and accountability to manage federal and state requirements and are expected to lead multidisciplineteams department-wide. Show less Oversees TDOT’s Project Delivery Network process for Legislative Projects in TDOT’s Region 3, which includes 26 counties in Middle TN including the greater Nashville Area. In this effort, oversees a risk-based, data-driven process to manage the needs of the Region’s Legislative Projects, comprised of a portfolio of projects designed to preserve transportation assets, maximize the service life of transportation infrastructure, and implement statewide technology advancements. Manages resources, coordinates alternative delivery activities, and ensures the exchange of information between Project Team members, stakeholders, and others who are involved with legislative projects. Implements Department policies and provides technical guidance to deliver the Region’s Program of Legislative Projects as part of the Division’s strategic plan. Fosters the implementation of national best practices that drive innovation, improve performance, and ensure project alignment with the Department’s asset management lifecycle. Leads mentors, and trains Legislative Project Teams through empowerment, communication, and delegated authority. Show less
