      Personal Support Worker

During my time with Healthcare People I have had the pleasure in working in various units within the company I worked with clients with all levels of dependency and care requirements.I was responsible for the care of the service users on all aspects of their daily care and supervision. I was required to ensure of their safety at all times. I interacted with all the SU’s and on a one to one level. This work experience offered me the opportunity and insight to dealing with adolescence and adults with Asperger’s syndrome Autism, borderline personality disorders mental health issues and intellectual disabilities. Working with both the staff and service users opened a whole new world with has captured my interest in this industry completely.One-to-one care with a service user in St. John of Gods, Stillorgan - Oct’11This work experience required me to care for one of the resident service user who was admitted into the specialised care setting of St. John of Gods. This service user was under the professional care and supervision of the staff of the centre at all times. Show less

      Community Support Worker

As a community health support worker in a local service provider my duties required me to work with service users that attended the centre on a daily basis. The organisation provided advocacy, advice and a daily service that allowed persons with physical and intellectual disabilities to interact with community activities incorporating and promoting community involvement on a daily basis. As the role of a community support worker it was within my remit to aid the service users to become a valued member of their community, by providing support with activities like shopping, travelling, socialising, swimming, going to church daily outings and going to work.
