  Studied Business for 1.5 years, then changed my major to Secondary Education in Social Studies and studied Political Science, Geography, History, Psychology, and Economics, as well as Education and the teaching/learning process. I then added a semester to get a Math endorsement.

  Nourish Yoga

  I ran all of the operations of Nourish. I taught yoga and interviewed and hired other teachers for the studio, created the schedule, and coordinated all of the teachers and their classes, including substitutions, cancellations, special events, and visiting teachers. I hired, trained, supervised, and managed a full team of volunteers to keep the studio staffed. This included keeping a smoothie bar staffed, having volunteers to clean the studio, having volunteers to help distribute marketing material, and having volunteers to run the front desk during class hours. I create marketing material and distribute it, either personally or through my staff. I ran the administration of Nourish, including keeping track of the numbers, doing payroll, tax reporting, and future projections analysis. I worked on expanding the programs at Nourish, and built additional space, planned and implemented more yoga classes. I put together a bodywork room, and then coordinated a team of bodyworkers to work out of Nourish. Show less

  I taught Social Studies under a Mentor Teacher for a semester. It was a smaller school district, so there was one teacher in social studies, so I had the privilege of experiencing a broad spectrum of teaching opportunities including; 7th grade government, 8th grade world geography, 9th grade world history, 10th grade political science, and 12th grade political science and psychology. We frequently team-taught in many of the classes, and 8th grade world geography was solely my responsibility for the majority of the semester. Show less

  Special Education Paraprofessional

  I worked as a paraprofessional in the Special Education department at the Moscow Middle School. This entailed working one on one with kids from 3 different special education classrooms throughout the day and working as a support to the general education teachers. I spent some of my day in the special education room working with kids, and some of my day going with students to their classes and helping to clarify information and support the individual student in the learning process.
