      Ensure that Tribal decision-makers have the information necessary to make informed decisions about the costs, benefits, and impacts of use and alternatives uses of the land, forest, timber, water, range, livestock, fish, wildlife, and cultural resources of the Tribe. Serve as liaison and consultant to tribal committees, organizations, state and federal agencies on branch issues and strategies. Assure that all aspects of branch are carried out in accordance with tribal goals and objectives and that all required tribal, state, and federal records and reports are compiled and submitted. Assumes full management responsibility for all Natural Resources Branch services and activities; direct and coordinate the development and implementation of long-range departmental goals and objectives to meet tribal priorities; recommends and administers policies and procedures. Maximize the utilization of sources of revenue, grants and financial aid to serve community Natural Resources interests. Supervise, mentor, assess and evaluate, and provide direction to branch staff. Develop future leaders and supervisors. Provide support to other branches and departments as needed to reinforce the best interest of the Tribe. Maintain positive public relations. Select, develop, train and retain qualified personnel.Develop and implement inter-governmental and inter-agency management plans and agreements. Responsible for ensuring natural resources treaty rights, interests, and authority in accordance with 1855 treaty. Show less Provide staff support to administer the trust, care and use of the reservation natural resources, including; soil, water, range forage, fish, wildlife and outdoor recreation.Serve as a wildlife and rangeland resource consultant and advisor to management, land users, and Tribal program staff, administrators, and government.Plan, manage, produce and implement range unit evaluations for inventory coordinator; to include reports, wildlife hunter harvest statistics, wildlife game inventories, rangeland condition inventories, annual evaluations, determinations of carrying capacity and technical recommendations.Conduct field investigations concerning theft, damage or destruction of range resources or government property. Recommend, plan and review and comments on wildlife habitat improvement projects.Provide technical assistance to the Tribal Committees, Tribal Council, livestock operators and Indian landowners concerning the basic principles of range management, laws, regulations, and policies governing the management of rangeland trust resources.Prepare budgets and identify funding allocations with improvement funds and responsible for expenditures within the approved budget constraints.Provide direct supervision to lower-grade staff and indirect supervision to technicians in carrying out the mission of the Wildlife and Range Management program.Responsible for budget development, program leadership, general activity direction, and supervision in efforts to the management, planning, development, conservation, and protection of range management and minerals development on Indian reservations.Oversee range management practices that support tribal resources (first foods), supervise willdife, range and farm staff supporting management goals, standards and best management practices.
