      Trained a squad of infantry Marines through pre-deployment training. Highlights included: allied operations with the United Kingdom’s Royal Marines Royal Marines and Royal Netherlands Army; airborne special-purpose insertion and extraction; and cold weather mountain warfare training, among others. Overseas operations contributed to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit’s deterrence of Chinese aggression in the South China Sea. Additionally, trained with the Philippine Marine Corps to prepare them for their domestic operations against the militant Jihadist group Abu Sayyaf. During this time period, also instructed and qualified over 200 Marines through static and helicopter fast-rope operations. Show less

Responsibilities included: smooth operation of the Color Detail; accountability for regimental weapons; ensuring all guard personnel are properly trained in deadly force; and ensuring the safety of prisoners and detainees. Participated in the third cohort of 2017’s Corporate Fellowship Program from Hiring Our Heroes, a program that allows activity duty service members to intern with corporations. Candidates were required to have a bachelor’s degree, but an exception was made due to foreseen potential. Interned with Macy’s Asset Protection.

      Macy's first active-duty internship through the Hiring Our Heros' Corporate Fellowship Progam. Interned with the asset protection team of one of Macy's largest stores, which spanned three retail locations consisting of nine stories and processed over $140 million of product. Investigated suspicious, company-internal conduct, examined company finances for anomalies, and monitored customers for troublesome behavior. Initiated and organized a Veterans Day fundraising event (2019), resulting in over $800 raised for Team Rubicon, a military-centered charity.

      Worked alongside Princeton faculty to instruct incoming students for the course "Ways of Knowing," a course exclusively for first-generation and low-income students. The goal of this course was to prepare first-year students for the academic rigor of Princeton through deep textual analysis, the creation of coherent and logical arguments, and a willingness to question well-accepted ideas. Aided Dr. Daniel Choi in his instruction of ten students. Lead "Text Labs," or small group discussions where text is analyzed and synthesized. Instructed two lectures—one on Michel Foucault's theory of panopticism and another on jurisprudence, affirmative action, and dissent. Show less

      Aided instructors from Yale University, Columbia University, the University of Arizona, and Sam Houston State University to help run an "academic boot camp" for current and former US Armed Forces members interested in pursuing a college education. Instructed 22 Warrior-Scholar Project students on the fundamentals of academic writing. Served as the program coordinator for Diana Davis Spencer Foundation (DDSF) Scholar Program, which aids enlisted veterans with their graduate school applications. Collected and organized information for 18 DDSF Scholars, creating scholar profiles that articulate each Scholar’s background, academic fields of interest, and areas where they need support.

      Serving Warrior-Scholar Project (WSP) as Senior Education Fellow for their humanities programs. Senior Fellows oversee program execution at multiple campuses, working with Junior Fellows, 15 WSP students, writing instructors and tutors from host institutions, and expert faculty in a wide array of fields studying democratic institutions. Working as a Fellow for Warrior-Scholar Project's College Success workshops (CSWs). For CSWs, Fellows travel to various national universities and colleges; these institutions host enlisted veterans from local community colleges who are interested in becoming better students and/or applying to top-tier institutions. Programs may be conducted remotely, too. Conducted prospecting research on 245 registered guests for the nonprofit's 10th-anniversary dinner, identifying 75 notable attendees as prospective donors. Created an internal document with biographies of all 75 prospective donors. Attended the anniversary dinner as organization representative, speaking with high-profile attendees like David Rubenstein (Co-Founder and Co-Chairman, Carlyle Group), Roger Goodell (Commissioner, NFL), and Indra Nooyi (former CEO, Pepsi).

      Fellows are responsible for instructing and providing writing feedback to Princeton undergraduates, graduate students, and staff. They also aid the center in publicity efforts to the student community by visiting writing seminars and encouraging the use of the center. Instructed nearly 100 students in analytical and argumentative writing over two semesters. Recommended by center leadership to serve as a Head Fellow, a supervisory position, for the following year. Transfer Mentors advise new transfer students and student veterans in the university’s recently reinstated transfer program to ensure a smooth academic and social transition. They also direct transfer students to relevant university resources and monitor their transition to ensure that no student “suffers in silence.”
