      In this position, I served as a safety manager for approximately 45 liquid and bulk transloading facilities located across the U.S. My primary duties included implementing and managing company environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs and policies, providing assistance in technical training, assisting with environmental permitting, presenting leadership training, auditing facilities for EHS compliance, leading incident investigations, and providing resources and tools to facility management to support safety and environmental compliance. Show less In this position, I served as a Senior Compliance Assessment Specialist for a corporate compliance review department. I traveled throughout the U.S.A. and Canada to conduct Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) audits at a wide variety of pipeline and energy transportation facilities. These audits (approx 30-40 a year) were performed to ensure the facilities were in compliance with safety and environmental regulations (federal, state, local, and company). In addition to conducting the physical on-site audits, I was responsible for pre-planning for each audit and preparing extensive written reports after the audit was completed. I also served as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for D.O.T. and OSHA compliance on more comprehensive team-based audits, some of which I served as the leader of 10-15 EHS experts. Some of the skills required for and gained from this position include: strong written and verbal communication, observations, problem solving, conflict resolution, team leadership, time management, and strong people-management skills. I worked independently but reported to a regional manager of EH&S for a business unit region of approximately 400 employees. My primary duties included developing and distributing daily safety talks; developing safety training; reviewing and implementing health and safety programs; and conducting inspections for facility compliance. I also conducted manager training on a monthly basis to ensure compliance with company EH&S policies and procedures.       In this position I was responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the safety and health programs, policies, and procedures for a chemical distribution company that has approximately 60 packaging plants and distribution warehouses throughout the U.S. and Canada. I worked with the corporate safety & health team to develop new compliance programs, policies, and initiatives designed to drive safety and health compliance and risk reduction. I was the chair the corporate Safety Leadership Committee that worked with facility operations managers and directors to effectively implement safety programs and initiatives across the company network. I used strong written and verbal communication tools to develop, implement, and train management personnel on those programs and policies. I developed and delivered safety and health training for approximately 2,000 employees and manage a Learning Management System to document and track that training. I also managed a $5M project to address fall protection needs across the organization. Some of the additional skills required for and gained from this position include: observation and instincts, problem solving, technical expertise of regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.), time management, and handling of multiple projects in a multi-site environment while working remotely without direct supervision.       In this position I am responsible for EH&S compliance and injury prevention at 12 glass recycling plants across the eastern and midwest United States. During this time we have achieved almost a 25% reduction in TRIR an 25% reduction in TRIR and #300K reduction in Workers Compensation Claims. In addition to plant EH&S inspections, frequent communication with plant management, and oversight of plant safety initiatives, I am responsible for the development, revision, and implementation of corporate safety and health programs, policies, and procedures. In 2021, I lead the limitative to implement an electronic safety management system for all 45 plants in the company. I also handle most of the industrial hygiene responsibilities for SMI, such as dust and noise exposure sampling. I also have been the safety lead on many cross-functional EH&S team audits that have been conducted at SMI plants. I work closely with SMIs 'human resources department, the Information technology (I.T.) department, and our internal and outside legal counsel. Show less
