      Recruited to draft Cross-Section, Profile, Elevation, Sewage and Traffic Maintenance plans for a Civil Engineering Company using Microstation and AutoCAD software. Collaborated with engineers and designers to draw plans according to specification and IDOT standard. Created visuals about plan of construction which were displayed at town meetings. Played a major part in organizing and polishing the final plans before submitting to the client.Self-taught to upgrade and configure the existing computer workstations and servers. Show less

      Maintained over 2,200 XenApp servers in the Allstate Technology Organization containing over 45,000 daily concurrent users. Played an integral part in Enterprise-wide projects complete from end-to-end including design, troubleshooting and maintenance. AOT (Agency-Owned Technology) project - Designed to accommodate 32,000+ Allstate Insurance agents via XenApp. Exclusive Allstate agents were required to acquire any PC’s and PC-related equipment on their own, leading to significant cost savings to Allstate who formerly procured hardware and provided connectivity infrastructure on behalf of the agent offices. Responsibilities included working with developers and managers to meet business requirements. Over 440 servers were ordered and rolled out in a staged deployment.Virtual Desktop Project (XenDesktop and VMWare) – Most Allstate employee PCs were converted to Wyse Thin Client devices. Desktops were delivered to the users using 2 methods – A XenApp published desktop or XenDesktop via Virtual Machines (VMWare). A key advantage to hosting these desktops was allowing users to work from remotely using any device with an internet connection. Various Migration Projects – Responsible for lifecycle events such as product upgrades and migration work associated with EOSL (End of server life) hardware. Coordinated with required business areas to ensure a smooth cutover involving. Examples of previous work – Web Interface update from v4.6 to v5.4, Citrix XPE migration to Citrix PS4.0, Citrix PS4.0 migration to XenApp 5.0, Data store migration from SQL 2003 to 2008.Other Key Contributions:- Designed a system for work intake to initiate work requests from clients. - Led an offshore XenApp support team in India and Ireland consisting of 7 resources.- Implemented a server consolidation plan to virtual servers, cutting costs for the company.- Project lead for XenApp server monitoring plan to detect any possible issues using Tivoli Agent. The goal was to improve their English for daily life as well as their communication for business purposes. Coursework was self-created and titled “English for Life and the Office”. The contents contained exercises and information to help students better express their thoughts. The final lesson included a live teleconference meeting with a second native English speaker. Each student assumed their actual business roles. After the meeting we summarized and found areas that were positive and other areas that could use improvement. This method was highly effective in not only correcting mistakes, but correcting them permanently.Lenovo - Effective Writing courseCreated and presented a half-day training course in effective writing to 15 Lenovo employees in the Logistics Department. Course was designed to train employees to write in a more concise and direct manner while using practical language. A portion of the course was a discussion about work culture and what kind of writing would be considered inappropriate in a "western" office setting.Main responsibilities:- Solidify an English speaking foundation based on proper grammar and pronunciation.- Create activities to enforce proper grammar, stimulate thinking and simulate actual business situations.- Covered ways to effectively and correctly write e-mails.- Received and provided feedback for each student. This included areas of strength/improvement and suggestions how to improve those areas.- Introduced phrases and slang commonly used during business meetings and communications. Show less
