  Air Warfare Officer (Air Defence Weapons) [or Ground-Based Air Defence/Air Defence Artillery]

  Attained operational and professional qualifications as an Air Warfare Officer (AWO) operating the Aster-30 and I-HAWK Ground-Based Air Defence Weapon Systems. Participated in operations to ensure the sovereignty of Singapore by conducting Air Defence operations against potential air threats. Worked in a high-pressure and dynamic environment by providing tactical control of the system. Participated in high-key large force exercises (Exercise Cope Tiger 2014 and Exercise Pitch Black 2016). Worked closely with airmen and women from the United States Air Force, the Royal Thai Air Force and the Royal Australian Air Force during these exercises.Assisted in the Squadron's daily planning of equipment and manpower, ensuring that the Squadron's day-to-day training and operations proceeded smoothly. Gave regular presentations on Squadron operational targets and systems knowledge. Gave lectures to junior officers and cadets on how to operate the system. Worked in a high-pressure and time-sensitive environment by providing tactical control of the system, led and supervised a team of 60 Officers, Warrant Officers, Specialists and Airmen in accordance with RSAF Ops requirements and standards at all times without compromise.Provided command and control on the ground for 24/7 Air Defence Ops incidents, ensuring round-the-clock equipment availability and serviceability and other out-of-the-ordinary scenarios that pose a risk or danger to the safety of ops crew.
