      I worked for the Westminster Outdoor Program as a shadow, apprentice, assistant leader and, finally, a trip leader for various student-led expeditions. Trips ranged from backcountry skiing in the Wasatch range to sport climbing in Utah's West Desert to backpacking in the Uinta Mountains. The core components of each leadership position revolved around setting the itinerary, managing the budget, obtaining wilderness access permits, procuring food, securing group gear, and following up with each participant to ensure that all of the necessary personal items made it onto the trip.
