      Undergraduate Researcher

I fabricated, calibrated, and tested intensity-modulated fiber optic strain sensors to measure the strain (caused by moisture loss) on food products during the drying process. In doing so, I could optimize the heating parameters to reduce food waste and improve energy efficiency.

    • NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration

      Oct 2021 - Feb 2022

As an NCAS scholar, I participated in an interactive online learning opportunity highlighted by a three-day experience at NASA. Selected students like myself are encouraged to study mathematics, science, engineering and computer science by interacting with engineers at different NASA centers. The project includes preliminary interactive Web-based activities and an onsite experience during the fall or spring at a NASA center. I was chosen to participate through a competitive process. As a U.S. citizen, I pursued my initial undergraduate degree at a community college and I have a strong interest and aptitude for mathematics, science, engineering and computer science. Show less
