  Head of the Damage control service and technical delegate of labor safety and hygiene. Engineer functions during the Mid Life Upgrade (MLU) of the NRP BARTOLOMEU DIAS (FFGH) in Den Helder, The Netherlands between October 2019 and June 2021.Participation in three training programs of the Portuguese navy and in the Flag Operation Sea Training (FOST) in Devenport, UK. Integrated the STANDARD NATO MARITIME GROUP 1 – SNMG1 for four months, operating mostly in the Baltic Sea and North Sea.Chiller Water Unit, firefighting and flood systems, capstans, Helicopter auxiliary systems, galley equipment, refrigeration plant were some of the systems maintained by the damage control service.Education and training of all the crew members on the areas of firefighting, flood fighting, crash on deck (aviation emergencies) and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear accidents Show less MEO and DCO during two years, mostly in missions of Search and Rescue (SAR), Surveillance, Border control and narcotraffic combat. Head of a service with 15 people, was an excellent opportunity to develop leadership techniques and to contact with full responsibility of people and maintenance management. Propulsion, Diesel Generators, Chiller water Unit, Fire Fighting and flood systems, refrigerating plants and reverse osmosis, were some of the systems from the ship that the mechanical service was in charge.
