Data warehousing (DWH) area in Vodafone Portugal receives data from different sources suchas Arbor (Post Paid data), PPB(Pre paid billing), SIEBEL into staging area where Extraction,Transformation and Loading (ETL) process ensures that the data passes the data quality thresholdbefore it enters the core data warehouse repository. The reporting tool e.g. Business Objects,Microsoft analysis services, Oracle Business Intelligence uses repository data to perform analysisand reporting.Vodafone Portugal does not use any tool for implementing the DWH instead they have implementeda layered structure using mainly PL/SQL as the programming language. Requests are input into Eclipse by the HP sales teams and Big Deal Managers(BDMs) perform a margin analysis to ensure the discount requested is within guidelines. TheBDM either approves or denies the request. If denied, the sales rep resubmits the requestwith a different discount. If approved, the sales team performs the steps to ensure thepricing flows to the various order management systems and quoting/ordering tools.
