Work spanned nanophysics, biology and surface chemistry. Skills developed included presentation techniques, wet laboratory methods, atomic force microscopy, organisation and team work.Typical activities included literature analysis, conducting long term experiments in a wet lab, operating multiple atomic force microscopes, developing new pieces of equipment in conjunction with material workshops, traveling to meet with collaborators and learn new techniques, producing reports and presentations of the results.
