Service, Warehouse, & Parts Manager - Kansas City Branch

I was chosen to be part of an organizational and philosophical experiment at the Kansas City branch. I was originally brought in to "modernize" office operations and to manage the EPOS EMV upgrade project. By the middle of December 2016, I had fully implemented Google Docs for the Kansas City Branch's Sales Orders and for the tracking of the return of Warranty, D.O.A., and parts with CORE value to the main warehouse in St. Louis. I was also in the initial stages of using Google Docs and existing internet based applications to automate the inventory transfer process within the Kansas City Branch.Additionally, I was in the process of establishing a section which housed Non-Inventory, but still working, parts. The concept being that working parts taken from non-functioning pumps or larger non-working parts could be used to repair older hardware with minimal, or no, parts cost to the customer and reduced down time due to waiting on a new or refurbished part to be shipped from an outside vendor. I was also in the process of putting together a similar, specialized, section of hardware components for end of life EPOS systems. The final stage was to create and maintain an inventory on Google Docs so that KC Branch techs could access the inventory via the Google Drive app on their smart phone. I anticipated this initiative to eventually be rolled out company wide to help cut costs, reduce down times, and improve customer service. The building of relationships through this initiative was having a positive impact and helping to improve customer loyalty. The duties of managing the EMV EPOS upgrade project in our branch were reassigned to a succession of staff members outside our branch before I completed my employee orientation. Still, my input and expertise were frequently sought, and freely given, to facilitate the EPOS upgrades completed during my tenure. Show less
