      Support / Helpdesk engineer

Receiving customer requests (phone calls, emails, messenger/chat), monitoring equipment, working with data center clients.I've conducted initial troubleshooting regarding problems with company's services (Internet connection, VoIP, iptv, WiFi public zones, L2VPN, L3VPN, MPLS, xDSL etc.) I used RT (Request Tracker) ticket system on a regular basis.I was responsible for decisions about handling of customers' requests (checkout, escalation, normal reboot). I've also did some remote fixes if they were possible. I'm familiar with CLI of many switches and routers.I had experience with vendors (routers, switches): Cisco, Juniper, Mikrotik, Dlink, Edge-core. Also with UPS vendors APC, Riello (monitoring)Technologies: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, NAT, WiFi, xDSL, VoIP, Multicast (IPTV), L2VPN, L3VPN, EoIP, SSH/Telnet, BGP/OSPF (monitoring of established sessions and correctness of announcing routes)One of my bright ideas which was implemented after I stopped working in this company. The idea was simple: when connecting a new household to the internet, company's connecting engineer must check if newly connected swtichport doesn't have so called "customer lock" from previous client (e.g. a database record based on ARP which connects client's MAC, IP and home address). Before my idea was implemented, workflow was quite bothersome (line engineer would call tech support and ask them to remove the 'lock'). My idea was that connecting engineer could himself remove previous customer's data off the port(database). It really easened tech support's workload. Show less

      Feb 2020 - Jun 2021
Support engineer / Cloud infrastructure enjineer

On this position I was helping data center customers with all kinds of troubles they were having with company's services. (those services are happen to be: dedicated rental servers, cloud servers (VPS), serverless cloud functions, GPU servers (aka hardware for machine learning), cloud platform VPSs (Openstack, GCP and VMware based), cloud databases, cloud object storage (Openstack/Swift based), cloud backup systems, Veeam Cloud Connect, Kubernetes clusters (aka Managed Kubernetes), remote desktop service, server collocation, rack rental, CDN, anti-DDoS protection, load balancer as-a-service for cloud platform/k8s, rental firewall, L3VPN, DNS hosting, monitoring as-a-service, licensing Google, Microsoft and many other products)Regarding VMware:Mostly it was troubleshooting and fixing, regarding clients' questions about performance troubles (regarding hypervisor's CPU cores workload and vHDD/vSSD IOPS diagnostics and best practices suggestions) and dealing with errors. I was using VMware Cloud Director software to manage VDCs in 3 different regions. Also I was doing migration between data centers, virtual networking and managing backups (veeam cloud solutions) and snapshots.During my work at Selectel, I was with only Linux.I have experience of creating clusters in both 'Managed' and usual modes. In unmanaged mode I used several virtual machines as cluster nodes and applied Ansible+Kubespray to the cluster to make them work. After that I built a simple Wordpress container so k8s could run it’s copies on the cluster. Also I managed to implement Prometheus+Grafana into the cluster in order to provide nice monitoring features. Apart from Kubespray, I did some exercising with writing various Ansible playbooks, in order to roll-out updates, perform bulk optimization of all running nodes and so on.My experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins was very brief, but I’ve managed to connect several plugins to it and perform a simple testing and roll-out actions Show less

      Jul 2021 - Mar 2022
      System Administrator

This was some kind of anykey/outsource position, but with accent on administrating this big corporate infrastructure (using Active Directory/Windows Server). I was responding to requests from end-users and from senior IT engineers (for example, updating hardware and software on hosts and big rack servers. configuring hosts so they would comply with company's cybersecurity regulations, including USB crypto-tokens).Also I had experience with fixing printers/scanners (not only cartridge replacement, but mostly network availability). I finished working at this company because Japan finally opened it's borders, so since 2022/04 I'm living in Japan Show less
