I have finished my training successfully on December 2007 achieving the completion of two business cases with total cost avoidance savings of £1.8m.Since my certification as a Black Belt I worked in Rugby, Crewe Weaver and Litchfield projects on the WCRM Program collecting data and leading improvement initiatives which recognized hard savings of £1.3m. These improvement initiatives involved:1.PreLims Demob: to trim down using Lean approach the contractor org to cut down on inefficiencies to drive cost reduction on a Cost reimbursable contract.2.Resources Estimate PIP: to focus on management of the contractor estimation of the cost of works as early as possible to generate hard savings in a cost reimbursable contract.3.Correlation of Planned Vs Actual quantities: to track the progress of the work packages in Rugby project. This PIP was used as the basis for a West Coast wide tracker for quantities and unit rates and is used as baseline for all projects now.4.Unit rate Controls: to design and program a database to link the resources estimate process with the quantities correlation and generate control charts to focus on staying within budget and create hard savings, this PIP was done with the support of a green belt on Rugby Project.5.Focus on managing the Hand back process for the West Coast program and providing help and support by producing process maps and trackers for all projects to track final hand backs.6.Design of trackers and a PMS for signal construction test logs in an effort to track any trends to be looked at in the future.7.Design a tracker and PMS for TAD tamping in Crewe Project to track deliverables and keep monitoring the control charts to assure delivery.Other duties includes but not restricted to:•Attend and provide update to Six Sigma Oversight Committee (SSOC) on bi-weekly basis.•Mentor and assist Projects’ Yellow Belts on their PMS’s.•Provide Six Sigma Yellow Belt training when needed.
