Before even reaching for higher education, I was uncertain about my specialization choice. Now I stand at the end of my degree with well-established confidence and a sense of strong independence in my skills and ability to work with data-related topics.I had the opportunity to not only meet some of the most influential people during my degree but also come to learn a vast amount of knowledge in the field of data science. The topics ranged from programming, mathematics, databases, data analytics, and deep learning, naming those that were most enjoyable and impacted my view of a data scientist. The Noroff program has introduced me to the world of data science and established me as a junior data scientist eager to discover more and apply my new-found knowledge in real-life applications. Jan 2015 - Jan 2017
      Summer Technical Assistant

While I was still in middle school, I was fortunate enough to be able to work there over several summers and help the IT department set up various types of hardware. During my time here, each summer would be primarily focused on setting up new devices or updating existing devices. These ranged from iPads, and MacBooks, to iMacs, giving me an ample range of different types of hardware and how schools are able to set up large amounts of devices. As someone who's always been on windows and has tinkered with windows, it was a good way to introduce myself to new operating systems and their differences. Show less

      Jun 2018 - Nov 2018
      Wordpress Developer

At the end of 10th grade, I was approached by the Middle Years Program coordinator at Arendal International School with a job opportunity. I was introduced to the CEO of Unwrapped.no, Megan Strand, and discussed the opportunity of creating a website for her through wordpress. This project mostly lasted over the course of the 2018 summer, with further going on as I continued with my studies in high school. During this time, I had the freedom to explore several different concepts and designs offered by Wordpress, engaging in the planning, creation and building of a website. Challenges were faced ranging from technical, to communication. Technical ranged from the website not working as it should, and needing to troubleshoot such issues. Communication was more difficult because I was working from a distance, due going to my home country over the summer. There had to be balance between work and vacation; understanding what needed to be prioritized. Such challenges gave me different perspectives to dealing with troubles throughout a project creation process, and effectively finding solutions that were most beneficial. After the website was finished, I worked for some time after to collect information on various products that Unwrapped was selling, Show less

      Nov 2021 - Jul 2023

As a means of helping the first-year students, I focused on their mathematics course, specifically going over the statistics and probability content. During this time, I was primarily creating content, such as problem sheets, while also writing scripts for videos that I made to teach them new topics. This also included searching for useful web pages and anything that would help them grasp the material they were studying. At the time, I was a second-year student, and it was great to get to know them better. It also exposed me to the tough nature of teaching and providing adequate material that is not just repetitive and boring. Show less

    • HMH

      Jun 2023 - now

With this summer internship at HMH I've had the opportnity to work on my first group-based project outside the world of academia. It exposed me to working with people who have different academic backgrounds, noting on the importance of teamwork and communication. Over the course of a few weeks I've gotten to know three very friendly, open-minded, and overall wonderful people. Each of them talented in their field and dedicated team players. My role in this project is a software architect, focusing on designing a proof-of-concept implementation. It was a new experience, and I got to learn a lot on UX design and general interface creation. Moreover, I had an additional focus of advising how Power BI could be used for existing systems at HMH, exposing me to more complex databases. While this did pose problems initially, I've gotten a ton of new insight into working with data and certain components in the backend world.Despite all of this being in Norwegian, I've gotten a newfound confidence in myself when speaking. I'm especially greatful to my teammates who were extremely accepting and patient with me. We've given it our all on this project and I'm glad I could be a part of it. Show less
