      - Supported 500+ internal and external students and staff with service desk requests including setting up equipment routers, broadband, PCs, remote access and organising work placement set-ups etc.- Ensured the smooth running of servers, hardware and software on a daily basis, as well as their ongoing safety through the timely administration of back-up processes, security upgrades and virus updates - Developed IT infrastructure to support fluid organisational requirements such as building and deploying networks across the college. (server installations, configuration of servers, CAT5 installations and network points, configuration of switches and VLANs etc.)Key achievements- Designed a distant learning programme called Tele-Tutoring to allow students to work from home- Introduced a weekly laptop clinic to support students and staff with laptop issues, to provide repairs, to install software and to assist with setting up wireless laptop connections within the college- Led monthly staff training sessions on aspects of IT and inducted new employees into IT protocol- Installed and configured active directory across all servers; configured for users and in accordance with organisational policies allowing drive mapping, authorisation of certain actions on each PC etc.- Configured exceptions within IIS to allow/deny certain ports - Configured and installed SQL for the service desk Show less
