  Culture NI - Work Experience - 2013I worked Culture NI on a week long work experience.During that week I was involved in making short films, as Derry/Londonderry was City of Culture of 2013 we made our short film based on the activities that were happening during that week. I was taught how to work and use the cameras we were using that week and learned how to use Adobe Premiere Pro in more depth. After all short films were shot and edited, and added to a 30 minute long video that's summarized the events that happened over the year of City of Culture, this video was uploaded to the official YouTube site of 'DerryLondonderry2013'. I was very grateful to get the opportunity to work with Culture NI as I learned and gained skills that will be beneficial in the career path I hope accomplish. Show less

  Introduction to SFX Makeup with Shaune Harrison

  This 4 day course introduced me to making, applying and painting SFX Make up applications.This course was ran by Creative Media Skills and taught by Shaune Harrison, who has worked on all 10 'Harry Potter' films as the 'key prosthetic makeup artist' and is currently working on the new 'Avengers' film. During the 4 days I learnt how to apply, make and paint silicon molds, using the correct application products and materials. I left the course feeling inspired to carry on gaining experience in this field of work. Show less

  I worked with Nspire Fitness to make promo videos for their newly open fitness and performance center. I filmed over a 2 day shoot and edited a 30 second video for them, showcasing different classes and exercises they do. I enjoyed making this video as this was the first time I filmed a video done sound and edited it on my own. From doing this I am confident in filming content and editing it myself but also would like to get more experience in doing sound for future video productions.

  On a University placement, I returned to my old school and adapted an online package called Frontier. This enabled both teachers and students to access work online at home. The feedback that I received was very positive, especially from a number of students who were on long term sick.
