  My Internship involved 3 projects:Apple iPad Air 2 Teardown Analysis· Delivered a thought provoking device benchmark comparing the Apple iPad Air 2 to the Microsoft Surface 3:o Collaborated with multiple functional teams (Strategic Sourcing, Development, Product Cost Management, NPI) to understand the Surface design strategy, feature tradeoff decisions, component selection and cost.o Lead the physical teardown of the device, working closely with Product Cost Management, Operations and NPI.o Identified cost reduction opportunities to be considered by product teams for future Surface device iterations.Continuity of Supply (COS) Issue Reporting Tool· Developed a new COS reporting, tracking and status update management process for Strategic Sourcing.· Lead a cross functional team with representatives from Operations, Materials Management and Sourcing to deliver a one source of truth COS tool for reporting, tracking and updating open COS issues.Long Lead Time Reduction Opportunities· Mapped out long lead time component categories for four Microsoft incubation programs highlighting opportunities to reduce lead time and proposed methods of implementation.· Identified supply chain bottlenecks and suggested improvement possibilities.· Created a new process and standard template for future supply chain mapping by Strategic Sourcing.
