This encouraged a very independent work ethic and a heavier reliance on textbooks. The feedback was very sparse and weighted heavily, which once again encourages self-assessment and vigilance against poor time management. The technical requirements of the courses made that a challenging and rewarding lesson. Exposure to many different languages, nationalities, religions, and customs has broadened my perspective and allowed me to adjust my view point in unique ways. Learning to socialize in varying ways, unforeseen previously, dependent on the audience has been an invaluable experience. Both business courses, Marketing and International Business Environment, have furthered this lesson and allowed me a pragmatic and measurable way to test this ability. Show less

Participant in Hackers Club where I traveled to Hackathons on a semi-regular monthly basis for a semester. These 24-36 hour rapid software-development competitions served as a great learning environment for my computer skills and a great test bed for my creativity. I attended UHacks, Mangohacks, and HackDFW.Participant in and mentor of the Emerging Leaders Program where a dozen first year students were given several educational opportunities to increase their leadership and network with like-minded individuals on campus. Member of the Gamers Guild a group of hobbyist who after working hard during the week enjoy strategic games and good company. Show less

      Aug 2014 - May 2019
      Undergraduate Student

Maintained a high GPA throughout my honors and engineering courses while pursuing extracurricular projects that grew my leadership and technical skills. Created a reputation among my peers and professors as a hard working and considerate student. Fostered opportunities for my peers, and myself, to grow as professionals and as people in the hopes that we may become stronger leaders for tomorrow, together.

      May 2015 - Aug 2015
      Intern

An intern in the Marine and Industrial portion of the main Evendale plant under James Florio and Roth Coleman. Found, researched, and implemented process improvements to save the company $8,000 annually with an expected $15,000 in additional projects proposals. Migrated entire engine lines from an aging software to a streamlined program while updating and repairing the data. Applied the 5 S tool set to organize all material used in the construction of the Subs division within M&I. Created excel tools to reduce the number of tasks my supervisor had to perform on a daily basis. Assisted my supervisor on a daily basis with managing a team of over 100 technicians. Show less

      May 2016 - Jul 2016
      Reliability Intern

An intern on the Reliability and Maintainability team on the Orion Project working under Gary Epstein. Led efforts in transitioning European Space Module (ESM) Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) in to a Lockheed Martin System level analysis. Took a lead role in the development of FMEA worksheets for the ESM propulsion subsystem – leveraged supplier design documentation to develop ~100 worksheets, and lead technical reviews with key program stakeholders (LM and NASA). Developed probabilistic model in support of trade study that supported program review of known design concern. Show less

    • Rockwell Collins

      Jan 2017 - Dec 2017
      Software Engineering Intern

An intern in government systems, next generation aircraft's, where I supported multiple teams by developing tools, tracing snags, and analyzing code. Saved the company $50,000 annually by programming a logistic automation tool in Python and DXL (the DOORs database language), reducing the time required by an engineer to create DO-178C artifacts substantially. Reduced the cyclomatic complexity on a major application by 50+% while assisting its development in both Python and C. Substantially reduced its SLOC count, independently developed needed functionality, and performed general maintenance of the code. Optimized the onboarding and the test hardware procurement processes by creating hosted tools that provide relevant, dynamic information using PHP, HTML/CSS, and Sheets. Show less

      May 2018 - Aug 2018
      Production Software Intern

Created robust tools and digital process improvements to the Launch Vehicle Sub-Assembly area using PHP, JavaScript, SQL, and HTML/CSS. These tools most often took the form of a web page hosting dynamic information relevant to an individual or team, allowing them to reduce the time of their processes notably. This automation helped both the technicians, my team members, and leadership allowing for exposure to the needs of the whole product chain in my area.

      May 2019 - now
      Senior Software Engineer

Returning team member to my previous program due to the joy and impact I had working with this group. In my one year back I have so far been given tasks associated with long term team members. I've lead tool qualification efforts, certifying the software we've used to better our process chain, giving me exposure to thread pulls, massive code reviews, and every part of a code base from requirements to testing. I assist my team daily with networking code to meet our AGILE deliveries, taking on independent stories, seeking additional work, and improving our knowledge base as I go. I work with my team, manager, and technical product manager frequently to improve the system we do work in, aiding us in keeping to cost and schedule. Show less
