Developed, trained, and maintained a brigade to mobilize and deploy to provide comprehensive, multi-functional sustainment support to a rapidly changing customer base during combat operations and other contingencies. Ensured all the brigade functions: operational planning, personnel administration, training, leader development, maintenance, property accountability, and religious support were managed effectively to maintain the brigade’s readiness posture. Managed the forecasting, planning, and execution of a $5.2 million dollar operational budget.- Published a 'organizational' strategic vision and direction achieving the synergy of all 3,000 teammates needed to close over 33 forward operating bases and combat outposts ahead of schedule in Afghanistan. Recognized as the best sustainment brigade commander in Afghanistan. - Designed, resourced, and trained a 300 member staff experiencing a 60% turnover of key, senior staff personnel six months prior to deployment into an effective and efficient staff able to successfully plan, coordinate and synchronize a sustainment (supply chain, transportation, contracting, finance, maintenance, etc.) support plan to over 88,000 personnel in Afghanistan.- Empowered the re-engineering of the contract management process by a two person-contracting cell slashing over $12 million in savings and ensuring fiscal/legal compliance for $153 million dollars in service and operational contracts; - Personally invested in the human capital and talent management of the battalion command teams producing all four battalion commanders being selected for promotion to Colonel, Senior Service College, and brigade-level command, and all four command sergeants major selected for brigade-level senior enlisted advisor positions.
