  Site Engineer

  My role involved managing and co-ordination of day-to-day site construction activities. I managed sub-contractor packages such as structural concrete,roofing works and internal partitioning and was responsible for field engineering duties such as setting out and dimensional monitoring to support the timely and on budget completion of high value public sector projects from start to finish. I received extensive training in site health & safety practice and knowledge of legal and mandatory requirements.   Nuclear/Civil Engineer, Technical/Surveillance Leader Nuclear New Build (NNB)

  I wroked in the Construction Engineering department as a Technical Surveillence Leader and Interfaces Engineer on the new build Hinkley Point C Nuclear power station. My role as Surveillence Leader was to review and provide comment on sub-contracted design for the permanent networks. As part of the Interface team I also helped in the development of a system to record and monitor all Construction Engineering design packages to ensure they evolved in harmony with the wider scope of the project. This involved frequent liaison with collegues in EDF entities in France and other departments in the UK. This period in the UK foreshadowed my move to France, where I will be working for three years in order to broaden my experience of the Nuclear Industry, with the plan to return to the HInkley project upon my return to the UK.Projects:Hinkley Point C UK EPR Nuclear power station Show less

  Civil Engineer (Ingénieur Civil)

  I worked on the implementation of additional backup safety and power systems to the existing french fleet of nuclear power stations in the wake of the Fukushima incident, specifically the implementation of an ultimate back-up supply building to supply each reactor in case of catastrophic events that lead to loss of principle power. My role involved conducting feasibility studies for the implementation of these buildings and general preparation for the first of these projects to successfully go to site for the coming year.I continued to maintain a link with the Hinkley Point C EPR project with frequent travel to the London offices. Ingénieur Civil (détaché d’EDF Energy à EDF SA)Je me suis occupé des modifications Post-Fukushima qui sont en cours de réalisation pour toutes les centrales nucléaires d’EDF en France. Spécifiquement j'ai travaillé sur le projet bâtiment DUS (Diesel d’Ultime Secours) : en suivant les nouvelles mesures de sûreté ce projet, actuellement sur le point d’aller au chantier fournira la dernière ligne de défense pour chaque réacteur en cas de perte de puissance suivant un événement catastrophique. Mon poste a compris :- Réalisation des études de faisabilité - Intermédiaire entre les titulaires géotechniques et les ingénieurs géotechniciens - Gestion des études APD (Avant Projet Détaillé) pour 3 centrales, 12 réacteurs- Préparation générale pré-chantier (études d’installation de la grue, base vie, etc.)J'ai maintenu un lien avec le projet de Hinkley Point C au moyen de participation dans les réunions de projet à Londres.Projects:Bâtiment Diesel d'Ultime Secours (Ultimate back-up supply building for each reactor), REX FukushimaHinkley Point C EPR's Show less
