  Equipment Manager

  I worked on a team of four to provide equipment needs to the Colorado State University football team. The job required me to assist in running practice at a high speed and high stress environment. I was required to plan ahead for travel for games. It also included the tracking of a large inventory of multiple products. A lot of the job was based on self motivation ot keep things running safely for players and spectators.

  As a Metallurgical Tech II at Newmont, I was tasked at performing test work such as bottle roll leaches(cyanide, thiocyanate, and natural), gold panning, flotation, gravity concentration/separation, column leaches (cyanide and acid), water treatment, chemical inventory and management, solid waste disposal, and communition. A large part was sample preparation before and after test work. This required the use of jaw crushers, multiple screen set ups(Swaco, Ro-Tap), ring and puck, cone and corner, blenders,and splitters. Show less As and intern I worked in the analytical assay lab. I was trained to perform and interpit data for acid digestions for ICP, fluoride and chloride digestions reading with ion specific electrodes, TCLP, carbon/sulfur with Leco(including sulfur after peralosis, SCIS, CAI), cyanide distillation, total suspended solids, total dissolved solids, ANPA, and potential acid generation. I was instrumental in rewriting and forming multiple procedures. I also trained many temporary employees and new hires in test work and lab protocol. During my time I also initiated and performed up keep on Newmont's chemical inventory project as well as re-designing their water treatment system. I continued to sharpen my skills in pH control, ion specific electrodes, Leco carbon sulfur analyzers, Lachat photometric, IC, OI cyanide analyzer, lab safety, and overall lab techniques and procedures.
