      Studied military history while being a member of the Kansas Army National Guard. My unit was activated for an 18 month deployment to Kosovo during my Junior year in school, which delayed my graduation but was an amazing experience.

      I enlisted in the U.S. Army as an Armor Crewman, serving as an M1A1 Abrams Tank Driver & Gunner in Korea and Fort Riley, Kansas. Promoted to Sergeant/E-5 at age 20, I led tank crews to increased leadership roles, showcasing exceptional performance and dedication.

      -Assisted the National Guard Headquarters in each state with force packaging of additional personnel and equipment in the event of a major emergency incident in which the National Guard was activated to assist.-Understand the FEMA's Incident Command System and how the military assisted in domestic operations.-Develop a daily common operating picture and storyboards for incidents.-Created and updated several informational products that were used to help the National Guard Bureau and each state National Guard prepare for and respond to emergency incidents.-Participated in numerous domestic incident training exercises at the state, regional and national level. Visa mindre -Oversaw the design of the "FEMA Region VII Vigilant Guard" exercise in 2014. -Served as the project officer for the planning and design of this major training exercise along with several planning events.-Oversaw the exercise and training budget of over $800,000 dollars.-Worked with local state and county emergency managers and planners on the design and planning of the exercise. -Became certified on the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).-Completed over 18 Incident Command System (ICS) courses.
