      Responsibilities:Work in the communities to assist in the IOM's counter-trafficking and development initiatives.Serve as tutors to children two-days per week as a means to integrate within the community.Create and implement a community development project to be completed within the six week period.Investigate and research a migration challenge identified in Ghana or another African country, develop a proposal and presenting before a staged donor committee.Achievements:Researched, produced, and edited a documentary short on Ghana's child trafficking issues. The film centered on the stories ofvictims of the crime through interviews on anecdotal evidence in order to educate those in the community on the risks of selling ones child.Produced a fundraising film for Peace Corps volunteer and refugee of Sudan, Nhial Malia. The film aimed to raise funds for hisreturn to his home village that he had been forced out of during the conflict. Taught an information and communications technology course to the Srafa Wesley Community Basic School. Held workshops on girl child education, food/water safety and hygiene. Further researched Ghana's child trafficking challenge and drafted a proposal for an educational awareness campaign. The campaign's aim was to promote a child's right to a normal childhood with the right to education and to oppose trafficking and forced labor of a child.Developed skills in the local languages, Twi and Fante.
