I worked to bridge the gap between the climate and business spaces by offering trainings and climate briefings to classmates, particularly around key climate events like COP26.

I held several extracurriculars during my time, including as the Education Director of Oxford Climate Society. I ran the School of Climate Change, which had 2000 participants during my tenure. I also did ongoing research with the Plastic Pollution Emissions Working Group (see publications section below), researching potential trade-offs of different plastic waste mitigation interventions.       -Researching and writing for Bridges Weekly and BioRes, two English-language publications on issues of trade and sustainable development. -Honed the skill of gathering information from various sources and write succinctly towards a deadline, as the publications went out weekly. -Learned a great deal about the structure and inner workings of the World Trade Organization and how sustainability concerns may impact trade deals.

      -Intern for CIEL's Environmental Health program, which seeks to strengthen legislative instruments to ensure a toxics-free future. -In my role as an intern, I worked on CIEL's Chemicals program which puts pressure on negotiators for the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Parternship bilateral trade agreement between the EU and the US to ensure high chemical regulation standards.-I also supported the strengthening of the technical and legal capacity of regulators to implement effective nanotechnology legislation through research and the drafting of outreach material.       Based out of IUCN Maldives Office from March - June 2016-Worked on issues of waste management, working on a private sector and NGO partnership to improve community education, awareness and capacity to manage waste on a local island near Malé.-Delivered presentations to local resorts, guesthouses, and university courses on the impacts of marine litter with recommendations on how to prevent and manage this issue in the Maldives.-Also worked on climate change policy and policy recommendations for the Government of Maldives using the framework of ecosystem-based adaptation.HQ in Gland, Switzerland-Designed, organised and delivered a workshop at the World Conservation Congress on solutions for plastic pollution. Also organised two pavilion sessions to raise the profile of marine debris on the conservation agenda. -Worked on issues of land-based management of marine debris, including help organize two multi-stakeholder conferences in Monaco with members of the private and public sectors to discuss best practice land-based solutions to "close the plastic tap", that is, to improve the management of plastic throughout the life cycle to prevent entry into marine environment.-Worked on the Blue Forests project, specifically in developing national policy assessments on blue carbon protections (carbon captured by the world’s oceans and coastal ecosystems).-Worked on grant proposals to undertake research on the status of microplastics in the Arctic. - Put together the annual Marine News magazine 2015 and 2016, with contributions from all of IUCN's Global Marine and Polar Programme regional offices.       Designed and managed the work programme for Gallifrey Foundation, seconded to the IUCN Global Marine and Polar Programme at IUCN Headquarters.On plastic pollution:-Creator and lead on the Plastic Free Campus programme - supporting high campuses to go plastic free. We encourage multi-stakeholder involvement to deliver localised results with a global impact. -Led on the creation of two educational comic book on marine litter, on partnership with the IUCN Commission on Education and Communication, UNICEF and UN Environment. Our first comic, "Poseidon Patrol" was translated into seven languages and distributed globally as part of World Environment Day's theme #BeatPlasticPollution. Our second comic, "Poseidon Patrol and the Reef Riders" was funded by the Ministry of Overseas France and distributed with the support of the International Coral Reef Initiative.-Seconded to IUCN's Global Marine and Polar Programme working on the "Close the Plastic Tap" initiative, supporting IUCN's work on research and science-based policy recommendations. Co-designed a CHF 7 million intervention entitled "Plastic Waste Free Islands" with international partners to deliver a three-year long intervention in six small island developing states in the Pacific & the Caribbean. -Member of the research group "Plastic Pollution Emissions Working Group" where we are building a model to measure the flow of plastic into the ocean and measure the effectiveness of different intervention scenarios to stem the flow. On deep-sea mining: -Coordinated the IUCN report "Deep seabed mining: a rising environmental challenge", including leading on the IUCN Publications process and working with a designer to translate key messages into public-facing infographics.       + I co-created and run the Global Youth Climate Training Programme, a collaboration between Oxford and the Global Youth Coalition which has trained 5,0000 young climate activists on the negotiations tracks of the UNFCCC since 2023. + I work on a UKRI-funded project to develop equity and justice-related criteria for net zero standards. + I co-chaired the Race to Zero Professional Services Providers (PSP) Working Group, convening a diverse group of stakeholders to better define what 'high integrity net zero' looks like for PSPs like law firms and consultancies. + I sit as part of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol's Technical Working Group for the Corporate Standard, which is being revised for the first time in 20 years. + I co-direct the Oxford Sustainable Business Programme, a sustainability leadership course in Oxford.
