A (much-delayed) sabbatical year. Required two years of planning and budget preparation beforehand. Involved both domestic and international travel. Gained numerous skills, especially in the areas of planning and working with other people in widely varying circmstances.Among the experiences gained: performed volunteer work with Habitat For Humanity building housing for low-income residents in Fiji. Expanded cultural understanding (important in today's globally-connected world). Continued to expand writing experience and photographic skills, taking thousands of photographs along the journey.Finished the travel recharged and refocused, ready to lend my multitude of skills to doing good work for my next position.
