  I substitute taught at Forest Lake Area Schools and Mounds View Public School. I worked at numerous schools in these two school districts (both north of the Twin Cities metro area) in a variety of grade levels and subject areas in preschool, elementary, jr. high, and high school.

  I coached debate and student congress at Forest Lake Area High School (Forest Lake, MN.) I instructed students in general argumentation skills, political and moral philosophy concepts, and public speaking. In May 2012, I took two 12th grade debaters to the National Catholic Forensic League's national tournament in Baltimore.

  From 2012-2014, I taught upper primary English, science, and health at an English-language private international school in West Jakarta. I also coached the Science and Technology club for upper elementary students during this time.

  While at CIS Tokyo I had a variety of roles, including that of PYP Coordinator from 2016-2020. I became Vice-Principal of elementary school from 2019-2020, but was also a Grade 5 homeroom teacher and Language Support teacher previous to this. In my role as an administrator, I was responsible for the implementation of the IB’s Primary Years Programme, oversight of the Programme of Inquiry, teacher training and professional development, management of teaching and learning resources, coordinating our school’s self-study and IB reaccreditation, and other general administrative duties related to the roles of PYP Coordinator and Vice-Principal.
