Jan 2011 - Aug 2012Upon advise of a liquidation / sequestration of a client to urgently secure and protect the asset(s) of the Bank and subsequently lodge a claim(s) against the estate in order to minimise our risk and loss.To proceed against the surety(ies) to recover the outstanding capital balance on the account(s).• Should the asset(s) be uplifted by the liquidator/trustee, to confirm same with the liquidator /trustee and endeavour to have the asset(s) released for our safekeeping and disposal.• Arrange for the valuation of the asset(s).• Follow up with liquidators/auctioneers on auctions. Should it be required to attend auctions on behalf of the bank and give feedback to management for decision making purposes.• In respect of the asset(s) being encumbered, to lodge a claim and rely on our security.• In respect of a concurrent dividend, to establish if there is a danger of contribution before lodging a claim.• Where all steps deemed necessary to minimise the risk and loss to the Bank have proved futile, to forward a notice to the client and once expired to prepare the bad debt write off enquiry as per the required time frame.• To pay over Full Proceeds of sale/ Section 89 costs and VAT to liquidator• To follow up on advance dividends with liquidator• Keep physical files and all relevant information/documents; and incoming and outgoing correspondence in a secure place and as per the compliance/audit requirements.
