  Joined as an Assistant Tester in 2003 and managed to propel myself to a IRSE licensed Verification Tester in 2005. I managed to step up again in 2007 to a IRSE licensed Functional Tester (Mod3b/4). Unfortunately Sitec went into insolvency and I was subsequently made redundant.

  I Strap and Functioned tested all Level Crossing circuits within the REB. This was done with the aid of a Temporary 24v Power Supply. This included testing many circuits with several parallel paths with Stick and Latched relays

  HABD PHASE 3 RENEWALS PETERBOROUGH

  I was lead tester of the new HABD equipment fitted on some sites on the East Coast Mainline. I carried out controlled changeovers with the aid of a 17th edition qualified person. I then powered up the new HABD cabinet and upgraded the correct software and then made sure the modem was speaking with the LSI (Control Centre) and then installed the correct parameters within the system for the specific site. I checked that all scanners and rail contacts were in working order, once up on running I put a heat source on the scanners and made sure the system would alarm at certain temperatures and corresponded alarms back to the Signal Box.   East Kent Resignalling Phase 1

  I lead the Testing of Axle Counter Equipment for this project. I carried out the numerous cable tests required including Cross Talk Tests/Meggering/TDR and transmission testing. I also powered the heads up and set them up accordingly and corresponded all Axle Counter heads back to the Signal Box.

  I was leading the testing of an SSI interlocking for a particular area. This included pre-testing all equipment associated within my area leading up to the commissioning. I lead the local functioning of all REB's and Locations Cases within my interlocking and followed that up by through testing to other location cases and to the new panel.I also functioned all the 4ft equipment such as AWS,TPWS and electrically tested Points

This included prep testing each location case and associated trackside equipment and then locally functioned circuitry where possible in preparation for the Commissioning. This included setting up the Interrogator and Generator to imitate outputs and monitor inputs coming back from the equipment or dummy loads. I had to manage all paperwork such as Circuit Diagrams/Certification and Test Logs etc... and regularly liaising with the TIC's for progress reports.I also lead teams in enabling and then rehearsing equipment such as AWS/TPWS and signals in preparation for the Commissioning. I' am competent in a wide range of equipment. Including Axle Counters, DC Tracks, EBI Digital TI's, Reed Tracks, Conventional and LED Signals, AWS, TPWS, HABD's. SSI Systems, Ansaldo systems and other Miscellaneous equipment. As of 2019 I have been working on the Electrologixs system on the Norwich to Lowestoft. I have been working in a systems capacity deploying firmware and data within the Electrologixs VPM-3 and altered parameter settings for the UPS and Condition Monitor. Show less

  Carrying out Preparation work for the new EBI tracks and Signal Heads to be commissioned. This involved hand tracing all the old Reed Track wires in Preparation of Changeover.On the Commissioning I was in charge of the Negative Bonding Plan throughout the job. This consisted of wheeling out measurements and inspecting bonding. A new section of OLE was installed which required an upgrade of Track Circuits. EBI200 Digital Track Circuits were fitted. I was responsible for Bonding checks, Earth testing Location Cases and Structures. I also tested a selection of the EBI200 Tracks and corresponded them back to the panel.   I was a team leader on the Commissioning. I was tasked with doing all the required measurements on the Scheme Plan and Corresponded various pieces of equipment such as Signals, Aws's and TPWS in conjunction with the Principle Testers. I also led a team carrying out Through Circuit Testing between Location Cases I have been working on the Systems side of the job. I have been working on the Electrologixs System. This consisted of installing firmware on various pieces of equipment including the VPM-3, UPS and Condition Monitor, I also was deploying Data and setting up various parameters for each piece of hardware. I had a spell in the Signalling Centre liaising with principles in checking alarm status's and corresponding with Teams out on the ground.
