  Ecological restoration of a 1 km stretch of the Shanshayacu stream, located in Southern Quito-Ecuador.This project was part a bigger program "Decontamination of rivers in Quito" that aims to clean and avoid the pollution of the rivers along the city. The program includes the construction of 9 sewage treatment plants. Besides to stop the source of contamination the ecological restoration and preservation of the streams is vital because the streams or quebradas have also ecological, cultural, historical, landscape and espiritual value necessary for the equilibrium in the sustainable development of Quito • Elaboration of a quick guide to restore the stream using native plants that contribute to the delivery of ecosystem services such as regulation, supporting, provisioning and cultural services. • Testing different techniques (stakes or seeds) to propagation of native species• Delivery of workshops about environmental education to adults neighbourhood. • Organising a visit to the Museum of Water in Quito (Museo Yaku) by the children of the neighbourhood to raise the awareness of the use of water and the importance to protect the streams.   Project Title: Sustainable rural development through socially innovative and community-based conservation in the Chaparri Nature Reserve, Lambayeque, Peru - *VLIR-UOS project*- Organized and delivered 4 virtual seminars to raise awareness about socio-ecological conflicts around CNR with participation of Peruvian and Belgian civil organizations and universities.- Prepared and conducted 4 one-hour training virtual workshops to improve communitarian project proposals to be eligible for financial support.- Organized and supervised successful remote collaboration with Peruvian volunteers to make 9 high-quality videos of communitarian projects that reached up to 6800+ views.   I was part of the Flemish project to support community-based initiatives to enhance the quality of nature, promote social cohesion and addressing socio-environmental inequalities.My tasks included conducting expert interviews, reviewing secondary sources and writing a methodology to evaluate the urban nature initiatives. Also the dissemination of results to a broader public via a policy brief writing and presentation of a poster in an international conference.I also participated in a Horizon project about urban ecosystem restoration. I collected lessons learned from the Latin American partners about deliverables produced by the project.I wrote an academic paper on the topic: Consequences of making Greener choices in the ecosystem services production in Flanders through the evaluation of simple scenarios.
