May 2017 - Nov 2022• Managed Essex Highways Transformation Programme to secure two-year contract extension worth £140m annual turnover with 500+ people on the contract – the most high-profile project for Ringway Jacobs at the time. • Tasked by Essex County Council to achieve £5m annual budget reduction out of a £25m annual budget, with a £2m investment budget. Savings were to be made through a mix of efficiencies and income generation.• Delivered 80+ waterfall projects from inception to benefits realisation over two years – despite COVID delays the deadline remained and the programme over-achieved the savings, unlocking a bonus payment. Three projects nominated as 2022 Highways Awards finalists. • Projects included implementation of AI video inspection system for assessing highway condition, performance analysis visual management software for managing staff and subcontractors, conversion to electric fleet of vehicles to reduce carbon footprint, and development of an external works team to sell services to broader market.• Directed a consultant ‘Lean Review’ producing opportunity business cases to supplement internal business cases and producing project charters for each. • Coordinated wide ranging project teams comprising 100+ heads of department, senior managers, and consultants.• Designed a bespoke project framework for consistent delivery of savings across the programme.• Navigated a staff consultation and redundancy process with HR teams required to achieve staff time savings, whilst also keeping job losses to a minimum through redeployment.• Chaired programme decision making governance board with internal/client directors and heads of department.• Developed a significant communications plan with live broadcasts, workshops, consultations, and bulletins.• Created live dashboard for tracking project timelines, forecasts, costs, risks, tasks with stakeholders.
