  As a Milking & Manure Technician I supported four dealers over the south island with the installation/ service/ training and trouble shooting of GEA milking equipment. Formerly WestfaliaSurge.I managed and assisted with fifty plus milking machine installations. My role developed into the technology side of the equipment. Cow identification, automatic drafting/feeding/weighing and automatic wash systems. With this equipment we have a computer program which all the equipment connects through. This is done by networking between all the components. All the low voltage wiring (24v) was done by myself or dealer.The sales team and I work side by side in getting new projects. I was the technical specialist that had all the answers. I was required to put parts list together for projects and be part of the customer meetings.During the last two years in this roles, I designed and presented Power Point presentations on products in the company.   Responsible for the sales of capital equipment within the Canterbury region. From rotary platforms, milking machines, effluent equipment, Barns/Cow Houses to High Tech Herd Management Systems. This role had me responsible for the service partners within my territory, by finding them new customers, dealing with issues and signing off warranties.With this role project management was done by me on all projects that I had sold equipment into. During the projects I ensured that all parties are working together and time frames were being met. Regular contact with the customer to make sure that the projects run smoothly with minimal delays. Everything from making sure the correct ductings were in the ground to the layout and placement of water points. Being involved in the design process at the early stage of planning with the customer.Experience with all major brands of milking and pumping equipment and have stepped foot into hundreds of dairies over the years here and in Northern Ireland.My most enjoyable responsibility was finding new customers and making them believers in the product and services the company offered.
