  As part of our college module restaurant and barmaid training were put in place for the hotel and event management students within GMIT this is where we were trained by professionals giving us a chance to see what is involved in the real world in the hospitality sector. We were showing how to make cocktails from scratch, and to make coffees and alcoholic beverages for customers, we served students and lectures with exceptional standards. We were shown different way to make napkins folds. We also shown how to take down orders correctly and where to leave them in the kitchen. We had professional uniform provided for this training. This was a great way of learning by actually being involved rather than sitting down taking notes. I throughly enjoyed this training academy with GMIT I will always take the experience with me in the future. Show less
