      Adult Education Instructor

Lead Instructor of Adult Education for Jefferson Davis Parish School Board, serving at Sowela - Morgan Smith - Technical Community College in Jennings, Louisiana. I was hired during a transitional time when adult education in the state was transitioning from K12 supervision and management over to community college supervision and management. I was handed a program with fewer than 5 GED graduates a year and successfully transformed it to having from 35 to 38 GED graduates for each of the two years I taught there. I was the sole teacher but did manage to obtain the help of a college student majoring in education to come in for volunteer tutoring and assistance the first year. The second year I was able to get the school board to hire a part-time paraprofessional to assist me. Show less
