  My placement was in Florida International University. I worked in the Center for Leadership and Service. I was an advisor for the alternative spring break program, helped with the Social Justice Living and Learning Community, and, a liason for community service partners, and organized days of service. During my time as an AmeriCorps Service Member, I helped students get involved with their community and understand the importance of civic engagement.

  I worked as the Administrative Coordinator at Florida International University. In this role, I worked with the Dean of Students and University Ombudsman with sexual assault prevention and education on campus. I chaired the It's On Us committee, which is a national campaign to encourage people to work together to stop sexual assault. Also, I worked with Haven, an online sexual assault prevention training program that is required of all incoming students to complete. In addition, I worked with the Panthers Care Initiative to help students become aware of the campus resources that are in place to help them succeed during their college careers. Show less When I was obtaining my master's in Higher Education and Administration, I worked as the Graduate Assistant for the Women's Center. In my role, I worked as an advisor and supervisor for female and male students on campus. I supervised the student workers and helped them through their personal and professional development. In this position, I worked on various projects including sexual assault awareness and educating men and women about various gender issues. I also created programs to help with leadership development.   Campus Life/NODA Summer Intern

  I worked as the orientation intern for the Campus Life office at IIT. In my role, I supervised and mentored 18 orientation leaders and aided in their training which included problem solving and critical thinking skills. I also co-coordinated the logistics and management of 5 summer orientation sessions containing 100 participants each. The programs in place were to help admitted students understand the campus and learn about different organizations and activities available to them. At the end of the summer I evaluated New Student and Family Orientations and presented the findings to campus partners at IIT. Show less
