      Performed duties commensurate with a MH-53(M) Pave Low flight engineer, touted as being the most challenging and difficult enlisted job in the Air Force. Deployed four times to Iraq in support of combat operations. Performed hurricane Katrina rescue operations. Total flight hours of 1004 and 408 combat hours. Gained knowledge of the application of Air Force aviator flight engineer, load master, electronic weapons officer, navigator, radio operator, and gunner experience as it applies to duties aboard the Pave Low helicopter.       Conducts operational tests on AFSOC rotary wing assets and provides fielding recommendations based on suitability and effectiveness. Utilizes acquisition and test & evaluation experience to analyze, develop, and evaluate aircraft systems to meet mission requirements and identify and recommend corrections to fix critical deficiencies prior to fielding. Primary focus being the CV-22 tilt-rotor aircraft. Current and qualified as an instructor flight engineer on CV-22's. Subject Matter Expert and liaison responsible for providing vital AFSOC support to the CV-22 Crew Systems Working Group, Software Change Requirements Board, and provides critical user integration with NAVAIR and industry processes to develop, integrate, test and field CV-22 block upgrades and new capabilities. Performs operational tests evaluating system integration with tactical environments and mission scenarios. Analyzes data and evaluates the operational implications of statistics generated from the data, develops high quality evaluation documents and applies the results focused on a requirement recommendation. Assists AFSOC/A3 staff in developing CV-22 training tasks and unit level training requirements. Submits suggestions backed up with test data to suggest future Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures for the tactical employment of the CV-22. Converses with NAVAIR in the development and testing of cargo loading and handling procedures, safety equipment as well as the rear mounted weapons system. Submits test deficiency reports in order to improve capabilities, tactics, and training in order to furnish data for higher headquarters decisions. Works with 413 FLTS in formal qualification testing of new developmental software and its ability to meet the AFSOC warfighter's requirements. Show less

      CV-22 Simulator Flight Engineer Contract Instructor

      Provides instruction and simulator operation for aircrew members to meet annual recurring proficiency and qualification standards. Ensure completion of training tasks in accordance with applicable Air Force Instructions and training syllabi. Use air traffic control services and radio calls during instruction. Support doctrine of the Crew Resource Management Course. Support instruction with NVG and Color Helmet Mounted Display devices with qualified aircrew. Instruct on aircraft radios, datalinks and other cryptographic radio devices as assigned. Conduct continuation training events for local operation units, both ground training and simulator. Train aircrew on the Visual Threat Recognition and Avoidance Trainer (VTRAT). Aid SIM Tech’s in troubleshooting and repair of various in-depth systems to maximize asset utilization. This job was fun.
