      I pilot tested an inquiry-based curriculum that aims to teach high school aged students about cooking, agriculture, and nutrition. I have implemented this comprehensive food literacy curriculum in Pittsburg, California and Yuba City, California.

      Developing novel and engaging course content to uphold the learning objectives for an undergraduate course at UC Davis titled "Current Topics and Controversies in Nutrition." In addition, I supervise and support the graduate teaching assistants leading the course and hold office hours to provide undergraduate students with skills to improve reading comprehension of scientific papers, understand conflicting viewpoints in the field of nutrition, and assist with writing techniques to translate high level nutrition research to the general public. Show less As a Community Education Specialist for the Center for Nutrition in Schools at the University of California, Davis, I actively support the dissemination of nutrition education in low-income elementary schools throughout the state. I assist in curriculum development, curriculum implementation, creating Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards focused on nutrition and food literacy, and write scientific literature on nutrition topics in language that is appropriate and accessible by the general public.
