      • Performed and taught the life-saving emergency procedures - tracheal intubation, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, tracheostomy, Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma, feeding catheter insertion, urinary catheter insertion, foreign body removal, placement of pacer, thrombolysis in myocardial infarction. • Trained a team of 4 nurses & 2 physicians for emergency preparedness which enabled them to attain skills to execute excellent patient care. • Stressed the importance of teamwork & how an efficient team decreases the workload by effective communication which has a positive impact on the health outcome of patients. • Trained the team to use a checklist regularly on medications, procedures done in ER & patient charts which significantly reduced the occurrence of near-miss events and adverse outcomes. • Along with 2 senior nurses & 1 Physician conducted a screening camp on prevention of COPD by analyzing the hospital records and selecting a cohort of 85 “hookah smokers”, out of which 62 agreed to attend the counseling session, after performing PFT, they were educated in detail about the pathophysiology & outcome of smoking. 24 agreed to cut down and 3 wanted to stop immediately. They were followed up for a duration of 13 months, 8 of the 24 completely gave up & 1 out of the 3 relapsed. Show less
