  Communications Director and Press Secretary Served as communications strategist and spokesperson for DPVA and coordinated with commonwealth officials, staff, and activists to advance a cohesive party messageDirected media events and rapid response efforts statewide during the 2011, 2012, and 2013 election cycles. Provided communications support to key Virginia victories, including President Obama’s reelection, Senator Kaine’s election, and the 2013 sweep that put Democrats in all five statewide offices for the first time since 1970. Developed a media network and pitch system that placed over 160 surrogates in statewide and national media pieces. Implemented earned and digital media strategies, including a successful campaign highlighting DPVA’s opponent’s efforts to interfere with women’s health decisions.
