    • Mark David

      Jan 1997 - Jan 2008
      Director of Engineering & Manufacturing

Mark David was a unique company that served the hospitality industry with custom contract furniture. As director of both Engineering and Manufacturing, I was responsible for over 3500 hotel/resort/country club projects; many which were multimillion dollar projects, simultaneous, and manufactured in multiple locations/countries. Projects required direct communication with VP or design, purchasing, Senior Designers, hotel owners, as well as factory floor craftsmen and daily travel. Was also responsible/essential * For reviewing/product engineering drawings for Model Rooms and Production orders; * Developing samples and production items; * Founded an Engineering/Customer Service Support office in the Philippines which grew to 75 employees and was responsible for all drawings, renderings, and project management for Mark David; * Oversaw the development of an in-house database to manage Shop Drawing and Project information and reports; * Developed Factories throughout SE Asia: ° Ensured factories were manufacturing according to specification ° Ensured factories were manufacturing with sound furniture techniques/quality; ° Ensured schedules * Met with customers in factory, on site, and in their offices to understand their visions and to communicate their ideas back into production.Mark David was a unique company, that did not own factories but developed relationships with factories around the world. I chose to leave Mark David after the company was sold in 2008, the company closed several years after I left. My skills and efforts were essential to the dramatic growth of Mark David, years of successful projects, and development and implementation of systems which defined Mark David as a leader in the industry, when our staff sized measured significantly less that other competitors. Analysis of our industry, constant improvement, and implementing control in the system were strategies that were employed and brought success. Show less

    • Green Bennu Inc

      Jan 2010 - now
Managing Director; Director of Engineering & Manufacturing

Green Bennu is a unique company for the design and hospitality industry, that offers consulting, drafting, sample development, and production of furniture and hand tufted carpets. Green Bennu is the result of 18 years experience in the hospitality furniture industry, developing the process to make tens of thousands of drawings and renderings and then developing and manufacturing the different pieces of furniture being produced for the hospitality industry. My experience combined with Green Bennu's studio staff allows us to create quickly and accurately CAD Drawings and Renderings of furniture and carpets. Because we are using the latest CAD and rendering software our drawings provide a near perfect image of how the furniture and carpets will look after they have been sampled or manufactured. For our customers Green Bennu can also produce furniture samples and manufacture small and large runs of product. From the time that I graduated from NC State University's Industrial Engineering Furniture Manufacturing, I have been working with factories through out Southeast Asia, Italy, and United States to develop new product and manufacturer custom furniture and carpets. Green Bennu has very strong relationships with the best of the factories that I have developed and teams in the factories for Lean Manufacturing of any sized production runs. In these factories, Green Bennu's engineers and quality control teams will work with the factories to ensure that the product designed and developed is what is produced. Typical Industrial Engineering concepts are used, which are also seen in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen. For Furniture Green Bennu can produce just about everything that you can imagine. And for Carpets, Green Bennu is producing hand tufted carpets using 100% New Zealand Wool (Certified), Silk, and Bamboo. The quality of our hand tufting is second to none as well as our ability to carve or multilayer the carpets surface. Show less
