Developed and maintained code for several different projects during my time at EDS. Responsibilities included requirements gathering, code development, on-call duties to resolve any and all issues, usually during the middle of the night, and mentoring newer team members. Projects included: Assigned to support a property and casualty insurance system project for the state of NJ. Developed code to support new state regulations, resolve issues during on-call duty, and mentor new team members that just arrived to the team. Was asked to lead a small, hand-picked, specialized team, to develop a methodology to transfer accounts from our system back to other insurance company systems, once the state of NJ decided to allow large insurance companies to do business again, 5 years after they previously banished them. The efforts of this team were recognized and commended by Division Vice Presidents. Transferred to a team developing a new reward system for General Motors. Participated in all phases of the System Development Life Cycle, including business requirements gathering, technical system specifications, code development, testing, final implementation and on-going support. Supported the coding maintenance for the national Commercial Drivers License System. Responsibilities included minor code changes to support new government regulations, code enhancements requested by the committees to oversee the CDL program, and resolving issues during on-call duties. Projects included: Managed a team of 100+ consultants working on the AT&T Residential Billing System. Clients were located in Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and Dominican Republic.  Managed a team to initiate, design, develop, test and implement a new conversion system/methodology based on a two database system concept to convert data from one system to another. Successfully implemented this system to convert data for US Cellular when they implemented a new billing system for their customers.  Used these same concepts and system to manage a billing conversion for Sprint Telecom where we successfully converted 26 million subscribers in two years. Sprint had unsuccessfully attempted this project for 6 years. Achieved better than a 30% profit margin and stayed 35% under budget. Created and maintained an effort driven project schedule in order to keep the project on schedule and focused on key objectives. Ensured all applicable functional areas within Sprint, as well as the other two main vendors, remained engaged in the project, and met all of Sprint’s objectives during the conversion. Show less
