  Served as Niger Country Director for USAID’s 5-year, $67 Million Peace through Development II (PDEV II) a regional project aiming at reducing the risk of instability and increase resilience to violent extremism in the Sahel. Acted as Country Director in Chad in order to provide technical and management support on a range of different programmatic and operational components, including identifying regions and local governance targets for intervention. Provided technical expertise and guidance on local governance strengthening, civil society engagement, and youth empowerment. Participated in meetings with key ministries and governors of selected regions which formed a new approach to working with central government officials. Conducted successful selection of communes with a participative and innovative approach based on the principles of community participation and inclusive decision-making with regional stakeholders in 7 regions in Niger and 5 regions in Chad. Developed and nurtured culturally sensitive (internal and external) relationships and networks to ensure optimum communication and program success. Led a team in Tchintabaraden, Niger to research and understand the context of entrepreneurship of Nigerien youth returnees from Libya. In April-July 2012, organized and implemented a solidarity day for Nigerien returnees from Libya in Tahoua and Agadez with the support of the US.Ambassador and the Nigerien Prime Minister. Negotiated and obtained alignment of PDEV II’s 2nd Strategic Objective with the Burkina Faso Government National Politics and Presidential Decrees.External Engagement.
