Responsible for household administration, procedures, budget, purchasing, calendars, and inventories. Schedule all preventative maintenance, repairs, and restoration needs of both the building and grounds. Coordinate property access with the Texas Department of Public Safety to ensure that the Governor's Mansion serves as a private, comfortable, and secure home for the Governor and first family.Work closely with the State Preservation Board, Friends of the Governor's Mansion and other historical commissions to maintain and preserve the historic furnishings, collection pieces, Mansion, outlying buildings and grounds. Supervise special projects as needed and serve as a liaison to the Governor and First Family. Oversee the planning and implementation of official, political, and private events at the Texas Governor's Mansion, ranging from small private meetings to large receptions and formal State dinners with foreign dignitaries. Built in 1856, the Texas Governor's Mansion serves as the official residence of Texas governors and their families. It is the oldest continuously occupied executive residence west of the Mississippi and the fourth oldest in the United States. Show less

  Texas Governor's Mansion Greenhouse Project, 501(c)(3)

  Project Manager

  At the request of the Governor and First Lady, managed the construction of a greenhouse on the Mansion grounds from inception to execution. The newly constructed greenhouse serves as the first new structure to be built on the historic Mansion grounds in 40 years. Sourced and vetted vendors and coordinated extensive planning, project development, and costs.With the assistance of the Governor's General Counsel, created a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Texas Governor's Mansion Greenhouse Project, in order to privately raise funds for the construction and maintenance of the greenhouse. Created professional fundraising presentations to clearly communicate design intent and project direction to potential contributors. In addition to privately raised funds, the organization was awarded two historical and educational grants. Ultimately exceeded fundraising goals, leaving a substantial endowment for continued maintenance and care. Proposed, reviewed and approved modifications to the project plan. Monitored and assessed schedule performance and quality workmanship of contractors, analyzed problems, and helped to implement solutions. Selected all finishes, furnishings, fixtures, plant materials, and other design elements to meet the First Family's vision. Upon completion of the greenhouse, continue to manage all financials, purchases, design, logistics, maintenance and additional tasks as they relate to the project. Show less
